Winning Record Rules
Decide which record in each duplicate group remains in Salesforce.

- Set winning record criteria based on a field value, (e.g., keep the Contact record with the lead source of website).
- Count related records and keep the record with the most relationships, (e.g., keep the Account in each group that has the most related Opportunities and Contacts).
- Use one or more conditions to define the winning record.
- Score each condition so the record that meets the most conditions is selected as the winner.
- Save rules for consistent merging and use in automated deduplication scenarios.
Field Rules
Define which value is kept for each field.
- Set each field to retain the value from the winning record or create conditions that specify the value to retain.
- Set field values to come from the newest, oldest, or most recently modified record or retain the most common value in the group.
- Use logic such as custom scoring to rank field values in order of importance, ensuring you keep the right pieces of information for your business.
