Dear Validity Customers,

At 4:30 PM ET on Friday, August 29, Salesforce informed us that our Salesforce Service Cloud instance may have been exposed as part of a breach of the Salesforce Service Cloud system via the Salesloft Drift application.

While your Validity account and the Validity platform are safe and secure, Salesforce informed us that unauthorized access to certain case-related Salesforce content could have been processed and returned during this attack. This may have included certain conversations between the Validity team and our customers relating to customer support, technical help, and general communications. In addition to these open text conversations, Salesforce confirmed the other affected data are as follows:

  • Name
  • Company
  • Email Address
  • Phone Number

Further, we learned that on Thursday, August 28, Salesforce disabled all integrations between Salesforce and Salesloft technologies, including the Drift application. Our Security team immediately conducted its own investigation and after working around the clock, we can confirm that this breach was limited to the Salesforce case data with no access to Validity platforms. To be clear, customer account data stored in our applications has not been compromised.

We have no evidence that any of our customers’ information has been extracted or misused or that there is any intent to do so. But we treat any incident of this nature with an abundance of caution and want you to have all the information so that you can take any necessary precautions. As always, we encourage you to remain vigilant in your data security practices. Validity will never contact anyone by phone to request a password or any other secure details.

We are monitoring the situation closely and working with the team at Salesforce to understand any additional details or updates. The privacy and security of your data are our highest priority, and we will provide more information if and when it becomes available at https://www.validity.com/legal/updates/.

If you have any questions about this situation, please email us at [email protected] or call us at 1-800-961-8205. Thank you for your understanding.
