Return Path Has Interns! Meet Marketing Intern Taylor Pomroy

In 2014, Return Path launched the Path Forward program to springboard women who have taken a career break back into the workforce. Over the past two years, the program has helped nearly 40 women and men restart their careers at seven different partner companies!

Path Forward’s immense success and growth prompted the decision to turn the program into a non-profit organization this year. They also hired their first intern!

This week we will spotlight Path Forward’s inaugural intern Taylor Pomroy. Let’s meet her!

Tell us a little about yourself!
I am from Rye, New York and am currently a sophomore at Elon University pursuing a major in Strategic Communications and a minor in Marketing. My favorite activities include traveling (I’ve been to all but one continent!), cooking (mainly eating all of the ingredients), and hiking (but mostly getting lost). This summer, I am fortunate enough to be interning as marketing coordinator intern at Path Forward in New York City.

What made you want to intern at Path Forward?
I was originally interested in a marketing internship at Return Path, but when Path Forward launched, they asked me if I would rather take the non-profit route and intern there. I love philanthropy and the idea of helping as many women enter the workforce as possible, so it was a perfect fit!

What are your main projects at Return Path?
As a marketing intern, I handle spreading awareness for Path Forward. This entails writing blog posts, researching possible new partners, and, most recently, creating a “Swag Store” through to fundraise for the company! I recently started working on a project interviewing Path Forward alumni to publish their successes on our website.

What do you enjoy the most about being an intern at Path Forward?
Since Path Forward just launched, I am working on a lot of cool projects to spread awareness for the organization. Being a part of the small, but mighty, Path Forward team has challenged me to work hard and also provided an environment where I can grow as an individual. I also enjoy working for Path Forward because the projects I am working on directly impact the company. I have always wanted to work for a non-profit, and it is extremely rewarding to know that I am helping such a great cause.

When you’re not working, what can you be found doing in New York?
Most likely eating either a New York bagel or pizza. They are truly the best in the world.

What is your spirit animal?
Great question! My spirit animal is most likely an Emperor Penguin because they are quirky but also very lovable.
